The Master of Music in Vocal Performance is one of the fastest-growing programs in the Department of Music. This two-year, intensive degree program seeks the highest level of musical excellence, artistic entrepreneurship, and creative exploration. All admitted students receive some form of financial assistance.
Graduates from the Bachelor of Music in Music Education program at the University of Delaware are highly sought-after for their intense musical and pedagogical training, which involves classroom immersion starting in the sophomore year. Graduates from the Bachelor of Music in Applied Music program have been accepted into the most prestigious graduate programs in the United States (Eastman, Indiana, North Texas, UNC-Greensboro, Colorado), and the Vocal Studies area is very well-represented in the summer opera training circuit (including 20 students participating in various programs in the summer of 2014).
The Bachelor of Arts in Music is designed to offer a broad spectrum of music-related courses while still providing more access to a traditional liberal arts education, particularly for those students interested in a variety of potential career paths.
