Choral Studies at the University of Delaware
The Choral Studies area at the University of Delaware is home to some of the most highly-regarded choirs in the Eastern United States. Under the direction of Dr. Paul D. Head, the award-winning UD Chorale has traveled extensively through Europe and Asia and is known for its presence in the European choral competitive circles and frequent appearances at American choral conventions (including National and Regional ACDA conventions in 2002, 2005, 2008, 2013, and 2016). The select women's ensemble, University Singers, under the direction of Dr. Duane Cottrell, has also made multiple appearances at regional ACDA and NAfME conventions in recent years.
In addition to these highly competitive ensembles, the Department of Music also offers a mixed choral ensemble, Concert Choir, which is comprised of mostly non-majors, and the Schola Cantorum, which is the University of Delaware's Symphonic Choir, made up of university students and community members.
