Applied Voice Study at the University of Delaware
For most aspiring singers, the pursuit of vocal excellence begins with focused study guided by a trusted mentor. In the Voice Area at the University of Delaware, that pursuit is alive and guided by thoughtful, inspiring vocal pedagogues, all of whom bring a unique combination of performing and teaching experience. All degree-seeking students will take private lessons as part of their degree program; MM and BM students will also have the opportunity to perform degree-specific recitals. Between student recitals, faculty events, and guest artist recitals and master classes, voice students and the community are treated to a wealth of opportunities to celebrate the beauty and intimacy of the human voice. Recent guest artists include internationally-known opera stars such as Lawrence Brownlee and Matthew Polenzani and celebrated coaches and collaborative artists such as Roger Vignoles, Martin Katz, and Michael Schutze.
